”ROMANIA”
In the winter of 2004 I accompanied Go Care Norge on a trip to provide aid to Romania. I witnessed their work among poor people in the north and east of the country. In some areas we encountered dreadful conditions, despite all the help that Romania has received in recent years. Before 1917, Romania was one of Europe’s richest countries, but was ruined by incompetent leadership in the subsequent years. Following Ceacescu’s fall in 1989 conditions have gradually improved, but much remains to be done.
